BJ Swanson to Seek Re-Election as Latah County Treasurer
I am excited to announce that am running for re-election as your Latah County Treasurer!
Over the past term, we’ve modernized the Treasurer’s Office by replacing a 45-year-old green screen tax system with a new platform that gives taxpayers convenient online access to property information and payment options. We’ve also increased investment income from $19,000 to more than $400,000 annually — helping reduce the burden on property taxpayers.
Our office is committed to excellent customer service, efficiency, and responsible financial management.
Looking ahead, Latah County faces major infrastructure needs, including a new county jail. I have years of experience in commercial and bond financing and will continue advocating for smart funding solutions — including Local Option Taxes — to reduce pressure on property taxes and not compete with school bonds.
